Back to Crete!! For a longer stay this time.....
« on: July 22, 2004, 11:45:45 AM »
Yes!!  We just booked our fourteen day vacation to Crete!!  Actually it's for our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! Can't believe it will be one year in a couple of weeks.  Just have 44 more years to catch up with my mom and dad.  ;D  We're leaving on August 22 and coming back on our actual anniversary date of September 5!!  So we'll cut into the top of our cake on the exact day of our wedding.  Ok so it's silly, corny and I don't know how it's actually going to taste after a year of it being frozen but---Hey it's tradition and it's not good to break traditions. (I can't believe I was even able to bring the top of our wedding cake here and how it lasted through the flight from NY to London..  I'll never know.  Perhaps it was the blue packs next to it.)

Can't wait for that sun!!  Currenlty 85 degrees in Crete.  Yeah baby, now that's what I call summer.  I run on solar power...  Need the sun  ;D  Look at the water!  So scumptous and delicious.  ;D

Ok, ok, rub it in why don't you! ;)  Crete......I'm lucky to get down to the Jersey shore this summer!

;D  And there ain't no such thing as bad cake! ;)

All you may get is the Jerysey shore for now.....  BUT AT LEAST YOU GOT SUMMER with SUMMER TEMPERATURES!!  Do you know it was so cold a couple of weeks ago (can't remember when) that I had to wear a turtleneck in the middle of the summer!! Pleaaaaase..  Hey it's 83 degrees today in good ol' NY with an expected high of 87!!!  NOW THAT'S SUMMER BABY.  This grey skies crap and low 70's is not summer..  (no wonder my beloved is not getting any action this summer; my moods are directly related to the weather.  hehehe  :D  ;) ;D)

No there ain't no bad thing as bad cake especially when it's the top of your wedding cake.  I'm sure we'll have fun with it..

Oh for me the hotter the better... Umm, just as long as there's central A.C.  ;)  Hmm, don't know why you can't see the pics.  I can... Strange.  Well one's a beautiful sunset from our balcony of our hotel room when we first went to Crete; the other is of me hamming it up in Irklion City in front of the Mediterrean Sea....with the all the different colors of blues and green.  Come on now Missy you've got those awesome views in Cali.  I've been there I know  ;)

I hope my husband takes me somewhere like that for our first wedding anniversary.   NOooooo, in fact I KNOW he will even if I have to book the tickets with his credit card myself.  ;D   Hope you have a wonderful time ;)  And enjoy the cake but make sure it's defrosted good first.  ;)  lol

Yep definitely looking forward to it.  We're staying at the same property but different location this time.  This location does not cater as much to families with small children but to couples and those families with "older children" (from what I hear).  Our other location was awesome but a little too family oriented for our taste.

If you haven't been to Crete and get a chance to go there I highly recommend it.  :)

Well I guess London's summer will be duly marked for yesterday hitting a hot 75 degrees, today hitting a staggering 77 and tomorrow a swealtering 78!!  ::)    I'm drooling for good  SUMMER weather

My mother called me yesterday saying oh Yvonne it's so hot today I just had to leave the beach and get home to the central air.  But Dad is still at the beach with the gang by the water.  It's great by the water though so I think I will go back around 4 pm once it cools down a bit... Yeah ok mom just what I want to hear.  Thanks!!

Now I know why they get four to six weeks vacation here.  They need it to get away to summer weather.  That cruise sounds delicious.  :P  Glen and I are talking about doing a cruise in the near future but I don't know if I would like the idea.  I don't like to have restrictions when I go on vacation.  But you have to try it at least once right!  ;)  My parents were treated to a caribbean cruise by some of my father's associates and went on the Sovereign Of The Seas a couple of yeas back and they had a blast.  But I'd rather do a cruise in Europe or around the Cape of South Africa.  Just does more for me than the caribbean.  But then again if someone treated me to a free cruise I'd take it, no questions asked.  ;)

Crete sounds great! Never been.  8)
A year already?  :o  Wow!
Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)
