I sent in a rough estimate to Stevens for a quote to ship my goods to London this summer. Im moving out of my parents place (dont worry, Im 22 haha), and getting married this summer. I taped out a 48x48 spot on my floor (most pallets are 40x48 I think), and im pretty sure all my stuff will be fine provided I have another 48 inches of space, although I can pack most of it into the space with only 24 inches on top!
This is a list of what I am moving:
1 guitar in hardshell case
1 guitar amp, 50lbs, 10x22x21 inches
1 1940s Kodascope projector in its case (pretty small case, about 8x8x16)
1 bowling ball
1 box of about 40-50 records
5 hardbound art monographs
1 box containing 20 or so small books (novels etc)
1 camera case
1 box containing various other cameras
2-3 boxes containing vintage housewares
1 vintage Zenith radio
1 10 speed bike (completely torn down)
other odds and ends... but this is pretty much it. All my clothes will essentially come with me on our honeymoon to New York, except extra pairs of shoes, ties, etc.
Can anyone recommend another company to go with? I tried UPakWeShip, but they said they dont operate out of the Detroit area, which is super lame because the bottom of their site says they do... anyway this stuffs coming up real fast. Help!
