Lark Rise To Candleford ending

SPOILER WARNING

My husband and I enjoyed watching this series, and then in the final episode, with maybe a minute left to go, the recording messed up! Could anyone tell me what we missed (I've never read the books).

I think we missed very little, and here's where it left off: Caroline Arless was holding her new baby and saw a sailor walking toward her (presumably her husband). That's where it cut off (we already know that Dorcas Lane gets to keep her post office and that Zillah died). Did the show wrap things up for any other characters after that? Do we know what the future holds for Laura?

I think that was about it. I was hoping Lady Whatsit would be the one who died, and Miss Lane and the man from Coupling would get together!

I'm definitely going to miss LtC, though!

No, we do not know what happens in the future with Laura.  You did not miss anything.
I loved the series too.

I had wondered if Lady Whatsit would die in childbirth and then Dorcas and the squire could be together. I thought until the final episode that HE had dumped HER over class, and it was interesting to see it was the other way around.
