UK's MSN - Exchange Rate Gone
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:22:39 AM »
Couldn't figure out where else to post this, so I apologise if I'm in the wrong area. My homepage is www.uk.msn.com, I enjoy seeing the exchange rate every day and praying it stays decent for when I take my summer trip and other future plans. Starting today it randomly disappeared from the homepage and I can't figure out how to get it back, it did this on all computers, so it's not cookies. Anyone know how to get it back or why MSN did this?

Let me elaborate, I was probably confusing. When you go to the UK's MSN home page "www.uk.msn.com" there are several different add-ons that are default. They are: the weather in London, the FTSE 1000 and several others. Under the money section, right by FTSE 1000, there used to be a daily exchange rate from $ to £ in the form of 1.98 to 1.00, etc. Two days ago it disappeared and I can't figure out how to get it back on the page. Anyone have any ideas or know why this happened/why they did it?

If you're in the States, then the web site will be accepting a request from a U.S. IP address (the number allotted to your internet service provider, your web "fingerprint") - it automatically assumes that you will want the US version of the web site since you're accessing it from the US.

You should be able to access the UK/International version from a link on the homepage, or else if you're a registered user, change your location to the U.K.

Has nothing to do with my IP address. I am going to uk.msn.com, it's my hompeage, not regular msn.com which would check my IP. I see London news, London weather, everything else. But for some reason, the idiots at MSN decided people didn't like the exchange rate on front page anymore and randomly removed it. I want to figure out how to get it back, I suppose I'll try and contact MSN.
