Brussels - reasonable lodging
« on: March 26, 2008, 10:07:14 AM »
Does anyone have any tips on hotels in Brussels? My jaw is still on floor after searching for two days.

Will be travelling by Eurostar and wish to stay in city centre (but thinking now may take anything).

<thought London was expensive....sheeeesh>

No idea, sorry.  My tip is to forget Brussels and go to Bruges instead, it's much nicer!

what is reasonable to you?

I go to Brussels about once a month on business, and pay between 100 and 300 euros for my hotel room, depending on the hotel, and the event.

Hotels.co.uk is what I use if I don't have a fixed hotel I want to be in.

Have you tried Tripadvisor.com ? I always find their reviews to be helpful. Good luck! :)

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I am attending the Euro Seafood exposition and it looks like the place is booked up (shouldn't have waited so long). The only places left seem to be around 300 euro (crickies, haven't got a euro key). I think I will take the suggestion to stay near and just tram it in every day.

Many thanks,

Probably the best idea since 300 euros is a lot!! I've been to Belgium a couple of times recently and have not paid more than 50 euros per night in small B&B-type places (although I was not staying in Brussels, but Bruges).

Have you tried www.otel.com? They have rooms in Brussels for this weekend (for example - not sure when you're travelling) from between 44 and 150 euros per night (range of 30 different hotels).

Hi,

We recently stayed at the Husa President Park Hotel - it was near the Gare Du Nord - about 10?? minutes away from Gare du Midi. It was a bit shabby for a supposed 4 star hotel and there were renovations going on. But overall, it was an alright place to stay for the price.

I booked the rooms on lastminute.com and they were about £176 per room for a 3 day stay. It was some sort of deal that only lasted that night, though, so not sure it will still be that cheap.

I hope you have better weather for your convention than we had for our visit. It was pouring and windy - not very good for sightseeing (although, from what we did see, Brussels wasn't good that anyway).

Good luck!!
