Question about cash for vacation...
« on: April 15, 2008, 09:53:30 AM »
I'm leaving on Thursday morning for a sailing trip in the Virgin Islands...  Yay!

Unfortunately where we are going, cashpoints are few and far between, so we need to take out a large chunk of change here before we go (U.S. dollars).  Any advice on where to go to do this?  Who has the best exchange rate?  Websites?

Thanks a bunch!

Try the Post Office.

You can check TravelEx's website and get a quote online. I've also found M&S and Tesco to have good rates so I would suggest phoning your nearest stores up to ask!

Hope you have a great time!
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

Helen, I hope you and your family have a wonderful time!  Hope the weather is wonderful for sailing, as well.  Look forward to meeting up and hearing all about it when you get back!!

You're in London, right?

My husband swears by one of the currency exchange places near Victoria - FX something.  I think this is it:

Link Fx Plc 2 Victoria Arcade London SW1E 5ND Tel: 020 7931 9090

He's been going there for years and says they always have competitive rates.

If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
