Thanks.  I found the site trying (in vein) to find info on moving to the UK.  I am a nursing student in Oklahoma and am kicking around the idea of moving there for a few years and exposing myself and son to a bit of culture.

The site has been informative, as well as entertaining, and I have been introduced to a new point of view re: living and working over there.  Now I can entertain the idea without the "romance" of it all and can move forward with my "planning" armed with the info provided.

Thanks for the warm welcome and if I have any questions, I know where to go.

Take Care,
Karla

Hello. I will hopefully be moving to the Leeds area at the end of the year to be with my significant other, provided I can get a teaching assistant position.

I've been to the UK(England and Scotland only) twice now, and I absolutely have fallen in love with it!(Well, with everything except the food :()

I found this site while browsing for more info on moving there, and I'm excited! It's great to hear other's experiences-makes it not as scary. :)

Thank you for having the site!

Hiya Snupy and welcome to UKY. :)

You might want to post in the welcome wagon as well to tell a bit about yourself.Sometimes we  silly people here dont always read everything :P [yeah you know who you are  ;D lol ]

I love England and Scotland as well, and dont worry as I know you have already noticed we have alot of UK food dislikes.

Good luck on the job front and moving to the UK as well  ;)There are really some wonderful people here always ready to lend a helping hand.
