My cats made it to the UK!!!
« on: April 29, 2008, 06:01:41 PM »
Well, this is a HUGE burden off my shoulders!  My three cats arrived safely in the UK today. :)

I was very worried that they missed their connecting flight.  They were due to leave DFW at 12:15pm yesterday but didn't until 2:30pm which meant they didn't arrive at Newark until 8:30pm which was a full three and a half hours late!  Their connecting flight to LGW was supposed to leave at 8:25pm but was thankfully delayed an hour.  That gave just enough time to get the cats on the plane.  Apparently they were the only animals on board as well.

My husband is already in England and said it all went smoothly.  All the paperwork was correct so they've avoided quarantine!  ;D ;D ;D He says they're still freaked out but tired and are mostly sleeping right now.

I'm just so glad they arrived safely.  Of course my next worry is the English not having any screens on their windows. :P  It's going to be a long while until I let the cats out as they've never been outdoor cats and I don't want them freaking out and running away.

Anyway, anyone who lives in the DFW metroplex and needs to ship their pets, I highly recommend Dr. Hodgson at Airpets America. :)

Glad they made it. :)

Glad to hear they made it safe and sound!

I can second the recommendation for Dr Hodgson at Airpets America.  He's chipped/vax-ed/done bloodwork for our pets, so when we're prepared to jet, they will be too!

Best wishes on your upcoming move.

Soothing to hear. The cats are my biggest worry, too.

Mine have always had access to the outside at will, but we're going to back onto a busy road and I'd love to make them inside cats.
