SEE!  That explains it all!  When we say 'ice tea' they're probably thinking some Delia concoction that they were scarred by 20 years ago.

Fair enough.  Mint and sugar are probably acceptable in the iced tea, but no juice.  Delia should probably either embrace our tea traditions entirely, or not, but not go halvesies and call it "iced tea".     

My mom does a nice tea punch with a darjeeling or green tea and cranberry juice.  It's nice in the summer, very refreshing.   

Sounds like she was doing a cross between Pimms and iced tea!!

She did say 'it's like a non-alcoholic Pimms'!
All the while i was just sitting there going 'this is not iced tea'.

Granted it wasn't iced tea, but my mother used to make Russian Tea with frozen concentrated orange juice, cloves and cinnamon.
