I like Enchanted, just because it has so much stereotypical princess stuff and completely makes fun of it all.  ;D

What about Belle in Beauty and the beast? I was crazy about that movie when I was younger, Belle is smart, beautiful, she wont marry the obnoxious "gorgeous" guy in the village because she hates his personality and ends up falling in love with the beast because he has a nice personality.

"Is he gone? Can you imagine? He asked me to marry him.
Me, the wife of that boorish, brainless . . .

                "Madame Gaston!"
                Can't you just see it?
                "Madame Gaston!"
                His "little wife"
                No sir! Not me!
                I guarantee it
I want much more than this provincial life
I want adventure in the great wide somewhere
I want it more than I can tell
And for once it might be grand
                To have someone understand
I want so much more than they've got planned
 ;D

I agree, I always thought she was great. And, she was never afraid to stand up to Beast when he was being a jerk.
It seems that the Disney heroines have been progressively getting stronger and more independent, though.

I'm partial to Tinkerbell, but I wouldn't describe her as a positive role model. I realize the character can be donwright evil as seen in the version of Peter Pan I watched recently. I like her because she's fiesty, stubborn and has her own thoughts. Can't say I agree with many of them though.
