Sacrilege!  Iron Man was fabulous!!

As for The Hulk?  I'd rather sit through a Hannah Montana marathon.  Twice.

If we were comparing that to the first Hulk, what I'd like to call the non existent Hulk, then yes I agree but this one was fantastic and as well there is an Iron Man tie in that all of the next Marvel movies over the next few years will do. If you are a fan of Marvel and a comic geek like I am I can promise you you'll enjoy this film. My only thing is that although Liv was good, Jennifer is better.

Iron Man. Sheer brilliance.

Indy...I'd rather poke my eyes out with a pencil than waste that part of my life again.

It's got nothing to do with the movie, really.  I've just never been a fan of the Hulk generally - movies, TV, comics.  I couldn't tell you why, but he really annoys me.

I do admit that I'm looking forward to Thor, though.  And, of course, the Avengers movie. ;D

OH no you did not just diss my bf Shia.  It is on. ;)

My problem was that many of the scenes in the film felt like one off shots that had nothing to do with the film.

As for the whole insane guy figuring out everything they needed to know off screen.  Lame, at least in the other films they had to figure stuff out for themselves.

Also, what was the point of teh skulls exactly?  How would they be an ultimate weapon?  Where they planning on forcing every person in the Western world to stare at the skull ala Clockwork Orange in order to control their minds?  Which the skull didn't even do? Lame.

The aliens could have been ok if they had explained any of it and any of the characters seemed surprized when they showed up.  With the ark and the grail they needed less explaining because these were already sort of familiar.

Those prairie dogs and monkeys totally lame and unnessacery, added in as Jar-Jar was.  Computer generated animals still look like, ummm, computer generated animals.

I like a good fun movie, this was just not it.  Which I found really disappointing (can you tell?) because I still thought all the actors worked very well together.

On the other hand Back to the Future was on this past weekend that is still really funny.
I pretty much agree with your entire post, bookgrl--except I still don't care for your boyfriend Shia-- :)

La La La I can't hear you....

Stop all this horrible Shia bashing.  You don't understand him, he's different.

HA!  No, but I loved Holes and I thought he was good in Constantine (talk about a comic book movie that was not true to the source OUCH!  I love you Hellblazer, I just don't have the money right now).   Shockingly, I really liked Disturbia.

I have no idea what any of those are.....!  But I bet my husband does.  I'm not really into comics (are they comics?)  My friend took me along to a comic shop (she's *really* into comics) and I was so out of my element and old enough to be every kid's mother in that place!

Hellblazer is a comic book that the movie Constantine was based on, loosely.  Disturbia was just a cheesy summer teen horror movie.  Holes was a teen book and a movie.   :)

I liked Constantine.

Speaking of horror, I watched "The Ruin" and it definitely had a few creepy-crawly moments.  But all in all, I thought the plot was over-contrived, and some of the gore was gratitious.  Whoever the actress was that did the topless scene though is one worth keeping an eye on.  The actor who played the med student was pretty good too.
