JICAMA!

The Cool Chile Co ROCKS!!

I'd heard a lovely rumour that Cool Chile were selling jicama... but i looked at their website and didint see it, so i dropped them an email.
The director wrote back to me to say they'd stopped selling it due to lack of interest, but she was going to market the next day and would pick some up for me.

So yesterday i arrived home from work to find a parcel with 3 lovely jicamas inside!
I immediately ran to the kitchen to mix up a batch of Hidden Valley Ranch, and for my tea last night i had raw sliced jicama dipped in ranch!  It was gorgeous!!

I can't recommend these guys highly enough!

I had a kick ass salad at Cafe Pacifico in Convent Garden that had Jicama in it......when I asked the waiter where they got it, he asked the chef who told him they get it at the Chinese markets in Soho. So next visit there, I went searching.......of course, its not called jicama there......its Yam Root!!! But it tastes the same!!!!!

(But I'll keep coolchile in mind for backup)

Wow.. thats really good to know!
It was pretty expensive to buy the jicama, so maybe i will look out yam root and see how i go.
