Money transfers

Not sure where to put this...

I am travelling to the states in a couple weeks and I want to transfer some £££s into my US bank account. What is the easiest way to do this? Cheapest?

There are lots of external companies that do this, suchs XE trade. In my experience, the best thing to do first is check with both banks regarding international transfers.

Using Barclays here and a local credit union there, it's worked out fastest, easiest, and cheapest to just go through the banks directly.

i pay about 10 pounds to transfer about 500 pounds to my US checking account from Lloyds TSB yearly.....

I am doing a straight IBAN transfer next week but it will be from $'s to pounds

I have USAA and Lloyd's TSB... I tried setting up my usaa account to have Lloyd's TSB available for transfers but it didn't work, I think it only allows american bank accounts because it asks for a Transit Routing number. I tried looking thru the lloyd's site but couldn't find much info... just trying to find an inexpensive way to do this!

I transfer money back to my US checking account twice a month using XE Trade.
