Or wedding was in the US. . . so we did little bags with small pieces of Dairy Milk and some mints. . . along with a small photo of us we had printed inexpensively at Costco. . .

I know this thread is a bit old, but I thought I'd add mine in anyway because I absolutely love it.  My fiance has designed the invite, response card and everything so he's designed a little card matching the invites which says "A donation has been made on behalf of our friends and family to [insert whichever charity we decide on here]"  which will be placed at each table setting.  I've never kept a wedding favor and I love the idea of donating the money we'd spend on them to a better cause than just filling up a trash can.  I read this idea years ago and have always wanted to do it.

We only had 8 people at our wedding, since his family couldn't come to the States.  But we gave little sand castles with tealight candles inside and a tag on that says "Our fairy tale comes true".  Everyone loved them, and I got a few extra to give to his family here.  We were on a tight budget and we planned it really fast, so we just found something online and ordered them.

My sister and I both make these origami stars: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1300/530070180_e777bc1c58.jpg

We have thousands of them and are trying to fill up a huge container.

Whoever gets married first will use them as a wedding favor, probably in something like this: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_12&listing_id=13822992

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~Mark Twain
