new connector for TV

Hi everyone...

I am bringing a TV over from the US to the UK.  The TV is PAL compatible so I've overcome that hurtle.  Now I need to buy a cable that will connect the TV to the cable box.  Where do I get something like that?

Hi Theresa,

There are different types of cables with varying styles of connectors, depending upon what options are fitted on the TV and the cable receiver.    A lot of U.K. devices have a SCART socket which provides multiple outputs on one big multi-pin connection, but these are not normally fitted to American TVs.  If the U.K. cable box has only a SCART output, you'll need a cable which converts from SCART to RCA plugs for the TV.

High Street electronics stores generally carry the cables, although they're often not the cheapest places.  You can also buy assorted types of interconnection cables from mail order outfits such as Maplin Electronics:
