Twinkie?
« on: July 17, 2008, 12:14:52 AM »
I am a pretty competitive powerlifter so I don't eat a lot of junk. But one thing I do love is the twinkie, an American icon. Can these be bought(or some form of substitution of the twinkie) be bought anywhere near Glascow or Edinburgh?

No, we dont have Twinkies here; but you can sometimes buy them online.

Not sure what you mean by 'some form of substitution of the twinkie', but if you mean you would accept any cream-filled greasy wee cake as a substitute, then... any bakers or supermarket will have something like that.

You could attempt to make your own:

Though I don't know if you can find all the ingredients here.  ???

I have a twinkie baking tin as well.  Its fun, you don't have to just make yellow sponge cakes with marshmellow creme- you can make anything you fancy in them.  It's a hostess kit and it came with a recipie book, I can pull it out and post theirs when I get home (even came with a twinkie the kid twinkie holder!!)
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Lakeland sells an eclair baking tin, looks a lot like a twinkie shape. I've been tempted to buy one, just for twinkie making!
