Rhubarb jam
« on: July 19, 2008, 05:22:35 PM »
It's easy to find rhubarb-ginger/rhubarb-and-other-stuff jams around, but I can't seem to find any plain rhubarb jam anywhere.

(Awhile back on a visit to Paris I bought a jar of plain rhubarb jam - Bon Maman brand - but didn't think to bring any extra back with me, since that brand is in most supermarkets here. But apparently not the rhubarb variety.  ???  )

Has anybody spotted it in London anywhere? Much as I'd love to go to Paris for some more it's a bit pricey doing it that way..

Sorry, no... but the rhubarb and ginger is sublime!

Oh, I agree, I love that too. But there are rhubarb-and-ginger moods, and just-rhubarb moods.   :P

The Ocado website says that it has Bonne Maman rhubarb compote - but not jam. Would the compote work for you or do you need something jammier?

Jammier.. any brand. (though the compote sounds interesting, it wouldn't really go well as a spread). Thanks though - I hadn't thought of Ocado.

Ouse Valley makes a plain rhubarb jam and, if you click on stockists, there are lots in London.

Wow - great find! I may just try one or two of those stockists tomorrow. Thanks.

I found some lovely homemad rhubarb jam in Ullapool, which, sorry, is absolutely no where near London-it'd be easier to go to Paris!!  But it was lovely, lovely jam, brought it back to my mom and it was yummy!!!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Try Borough Market.
