I think that learners that start from scratch will probably need 32+ lessons, especially if they've never driven a car before. If you drove in the USA and have been driving 6 months in Scotland, I dont think you'll need nearly as many. Maybe just a few so you know what the test examiner is looking for. Not looking in mirrors enough and at the right times is one thing alot of ppl get minors for. Make sure you look in your mirrors TONS.
Yeah, I started from scratch in the UK at 17 and it took me over a year of weekly lessons and 3 tests to pass! I must have had about 50 2-hour lessons and spent over £1000 on them before I passed
.
However, I was a very nervous/unsure driver and it took me a long time to gain enough confidence, so I wasn't in a hurry to pass the test in as few lessons as possible. On the other hand, both of my younger brothers passed within a few months of turning 17, one took 3 attempts at the test and the other passed first time
, so not everyone needs as many lessons as I did.
