Speaking of accents and dialects...
I speak with what I call a "Jersey Girl" speech pattern. We overuse the word "like"and we add "you know" or "ya know" to sentences. Whenever I'd be on the phone with Tim and I'd say "you know" he'd reply with "no, I don't" until I explained that it's just the way I talk.
Last night on the phone, Tim started saying "you know". I just about died laughing that my speech patterns were rubbing off on him!
