Thanks for the info about the maps! We don't have any PDAs or mobiles with GPS on them, but I do agree with it being better to carry around less things!

DB and I ended up buying the Garmin NĂ¼vi 750. We went ahead and got it because Amazon was having a a great sale on it (40% off and it qualified for free shipping) and this has all the features we want, plus more. We don't have hands-free and this is good because it has Bluetooth and both of our phones are Bluetooth, although we didn't want this one specifically for the Bluetooth feature. We decided to pay a bit extra for lane assist since we live in a densely populated area of the US and our research recommended lane assist for driving in Europe as well.

I told DB that I can't wait for it to come so we can play. He asked how we play with a GPS and I said that we'll put in addresses and go somewhere, of course! He doesn't want to go for random car rides. We'll have to find a fun place for us to go, then.

Good purchase! Garmins are generally thought to be the best. We have one for the car, a walking one for walking and a bike one for biking!  :)

We just got a Garmin Nuvi 300, and so far it's a really good little gadget.  It's the size of a compact digital camera, it comes with a carry case to protect the screen when you're not using it, and it's got an SD card slot for extra maps or MP3 files.

In action, it was already charged up when it arrived, and it found satellites and was ready to go within a minute or two of turning it on.  If you miss a turn because you're telling me about your friend and her boyfriend moving in together, and how that's not working out so well, the Garmin recalculates your route within seconds.  (That actually happened yesterday.)  :)

I recommend it highly.

hehehe, I'm known for driving on autopilot and missing turns. I figure if a voice is telling me to turn, it might help out with that!

I'm glad they're so good. This one we have can supposedly be used for walking. Might be a little bulky, but it'll work.

Play? Hooboy! If you like hiking (actually, even if you don't) try this.

Im sure you will be happy with the one you got Belita! We have a TomTom and consider 'Tom' a very important part of the family for going almost anywhere!  ;D
