DFC Filling with finances
« on: August 18, 2008, 03:15:44 PM »
Has everyone who applied to move back to the US has good savings and a job offer or have they used there property (if they have one) as proof of finances? We have a small amount of savings now and the house, which we are still looking at if to rent it out or sell in a year to try and move back subject to us being able gain medical cover (this is what has put us off so far) we do not want to pay all this money out to file a petition only to find they will not consider us to live in the US due to lack of funds because the house is not sold yet?

Can anyone enlighten us as to how they managed with this side of things as we have been looking at all of this for some time (over a year now and the main problem was not being able to find health cover) this may be sorted now we found we hope a good broker who deals with all of this.

Thanks

Indy
I hope we get better weather with the new year I am getting rained out.

Good luck to everyone with respective visa applications.

We are going to use the excess from our home sale. We will have enuf to satisfy the 4x poverty level for our family size.

diveintoamerica.com is a good source of information. Loads of ppl that have already made the jump to the US.

Good luck!

We have been on there in the past and they have been great.

Have you already sold your home? ours leaves us with a good 4+ times poverty line at the moment as long as house prices do not drop anymore, but we had thought about keeping it and renting it out as we do not have a big mortgage wife had the house some years before we met.

Thanks for your help can I ask do you have to get the letters from friends family  witnessed you have to have 3 confirming you have been and are still in a marriage/relationship? How did you go about this I feel a bit embarresed asking people did you ask close family ie mom sibilings and the like?

We have loads of people who will and have wrote letters about having seen us together and know we are married.

Thanks

No we haven't sold our house yet that is still about 9 months off. Our timeline isn't moving till next Sept or Oct.

The letters depend on who gets your app and the mood they are in, I believe. We have a baby and still had an RFE (request for evidence) sent to us, and we had to provide 3 affadavits from people who could vouch for us being legally married.

Isn't it mad we will ask my mom, sister and next door neighbour all where at the wedding and all have known us for the 4 nearly 5 years we have been together.

Now the other question is the poverty guideline is 125%, we need $35500 + the 125% have we worked this out there are 6 of us in total and it came to $44375 or do we require more I keep looking at this figure wondering if we have it correct?

Thanks

I think they have to get them stamped (noterised) how mad is that I feel a little embarresed as I said before asking people to do this and its more expense.

My wife has to finish her course first and that wont be until next year anyway but we have been dithering about for ages mainly because of my being disabled and worrying about health cover we seem to have found someone now who can help us and also found I might still be eligable for medicare ect thanks to this really nice lady.
