Yeah, but wouldn't those fees be kind of high? between the ATM fee for HSBC, the ATM fee your bank might charge, plus a conversion fee?
UK cash machines generally don't charge for ATM withdrawals (there are some ones that do, but they're operated by private companies- stay away from those!), so there wouldn't be a charge from HSBC.
To avoid charges from my US bank, I take advantage of the Bank of America-Barclays relationship with ATMs, but if you're not a BoA customer, yep, you'll be charged a fee.
For a two month trip, taking out cash from ATMs shouldn't cost you too much money in fees, as long as you take out more than £10 at a time!
