Welcome! New York is fabulous; come!  ;D

This might be a nice way for you to get started:

http://www.bunac.com/UK/

There are 4 programs to choose from. "Work America", "OPT USA", "Summer Camp USA" and "Kamp." Unfortunately, you need to be either 18 or 19+ years old to do these programs. It is something to strive towards though in your upcoming years.

There are also Au Pair companies you can look into. I don't know any specific websites to look at but if I find any, I will post the links here for you. If you decide to go to college, the career centers on campus usually have a wealth of info on working abroad. You can also do an exchange program of studying thru your college too. Or you can apply to colleges in New York as an International Student for four (or more) years. Some of the best are New York University http://www.nyu.edu/, Columbia University http://www.columbia.edu/ and my (biased favorite) alma mater Fashion Institute of Technology (which has other programs besides Fashion....) http://www.fitnyc.suny.edu/html/dynamic.html There are many other colleges here as well.

Best wishes on making your dream come true!!!  :-*

(PS- "Friends" is NOT anything like the real New York.)  [smiley=laugh4.gif]

That is great that you want to live in NY!!!!  It's the most amazing city in the world, I've lived there for a while!!!!  Everything ny_2_uk said will help point you in the right direction!  I hope one day I will be able to move back with my husband or at least have an apartment there. (I know, I can dream though!)  Being a nanny is the best way to go, my best friends sister-in-law is from Luton and was a nanny for years.  Good luck, if you need anymore advise I'd be happy to help and I'm sure ny_2_uk would too and the others from nyc as well.  (At least I hope so!!!!)
