sour cherries......please!
« on: May 24, 2004, 11:22:12 AM »
I'm dying to make some cherry pies this summer but can't find canned sour cherries here. I've seen sweet cherries, cherries in syrup, and dried cherries but that's it. I know a friend got some at a health food type shop in London (I think they were imported from Germany). Has anyone seen them in a shop or online?

Fide seem to do them:

See:  http://www.spluk.net/fide-products1.htm

I'm sure I've seen Fide cans/bottles/jars in the supermarkets.

You've got me singing

"'Can she bake a cherry pie, Billy Boy, Billy Boy,
Can she bake a cherry pie, charmin' Billy?'
'She can bake a cherry pie in the twinkling of an eye -
She's a young thing and cannot leave her mommie!'"

;) = twinkling of an eye!

Thanks Howard, haven't seen them myself. Can I order from their web site? They appear to be for bulk ordering for shops.
