Where do you get your coffee?

My, there is an awful lot of covert criticism of other people's personal tastes around this site! Sharing differing opinions is fine, but a very faint tone of putting someone down seems to happen a wee bit around here....

You're right -- you will learn to let it roll off once you've been here a wee while, though!    Anything from what sort of coffee you like, to what sort of movies you find scary, or what TV programmes you watch... someone will want to make you feel stupid for it at some stage!   I shudder to think about the slapping down and 'judging' that goes on in some of the boards I've got blocked... the ones where they talk about more 'serious' stuff!!   

I get sis to send me something called Norma Jeans from Calif which is flavoured and does float my own personal boat.....but it never lasts too long. In between those, we drink half fair trade and half Lavazza.

Oh I don't ever let someone being a catty b*tch to me "roll off my back." Sorry but I don't tolerate that kind of person and I will not let that pass. It's unnecessary and shitty. In general I usually avoid female-dominated boards for this reason. I don't traffic in that crap.

You can always use the 'ignore' button that is underneath the persons name if you feel that strongly about their snide remarks.

Personally, I like flavoured coffee and anyone who doesn't can bite me.  Why does it matter what other people do or don't like?  It's COFFEE.

We love flavored coffee. We always bring sacks of it back from the US with us. I love the Folgers Vanilla Biscotti flavor and also the Cinnamon Swirl. One day they are going to stop us thinking we have something other than coffee with us....

My husband really likes the Jacc's because they do flavoured decaf.  He can't handle the caffeine, but loves the gingerbread coffee I just bought him.   

Plus, we bought a bag of coffee and a hand held grinder for 10.00.  It works really well and can be adjusted for different types of machines.

Oh my, coffee addict here. I used to live in Oakland, CA and stopped at Peaberry every morning for a cup of India Mysore or Sumatra...Of course that was over a year ago and I was having up to 5 venti mocha's a day just to stay awake.

But, now I get instant  . Though hubby keeps offering to get me a coffee pot and tells me to get a bag of Sumatra from Starbucks. It's close to the flavor of Peaberry and I just checked online and Peaberry might ship to the UK. Further investigation required!

Whittard's actually do a fresh Kenya Peaberry.  They have also done Sumatra Blue Lingtong in the past as a coffee of the month.

I've tried to avoid this topic as long as possible lol (there are some that know why!!  )

I miss really good coffee. Went to Starbucks in Derby yesterday the one on Victoria St, had to go to the big Boots store in Westfield so it was on my way home, and had a cup of House Blend, not bad for a brewed coffee, but no where near what I used to have. Of course that Peaberry's I used to buy was $13.75 a pound!

Holy cow that is quite a lot!  Taken into account economic settings, whittards is only £9.72 a pound. Ok, maybe not so much that different!  lol  But you will pay more for good quality coffee especially if it can be sourced down to the particular plantation from which it was grown.

Yeah, in the US, the coffee I used to buy from a local roaster about 10 years ago was $12-15 a pound (but that was a real pound).  When I moved out of the area, I never found anything to replace it.  I found cheaper alternatives, but they weren't nearly as good.

Is Whittard's good?  Mr. Akimbo picked some up months ago, but it was a small amount and a very mild blend (he's a super taster so he doesn't like most coffee).  There's one on Victoria Street and probably at least one in the station, so that would be really convenient.
