My Ohio Driver's License is still valid for a few more years.  But what happens once my license expires?  Will I still be able to renew it even though I'm no longer a resident?  If not - how am I able to drive when I return to visit the U.S.?  I do not have a UK driver's license - I live in London, so I don't drive since I use public transport.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!!!

Each state has different rules about renewing licenses. Have you checked with Ohio's DMV?

In most states, your DL becomes "invalid" after 10 days of moving away from your residence...

As far as driving in the US, you would drive in the States on your UK license...  (How do you think all those Brits visiting the US get around?)

But you can get around that with your parents or friends's address as your "residence" usually.  It does depend on the state for renewal purposes though.
