My hubby lost 2 of his bank statements...
« on: October 02, 2008, 04:14:46 AM »
He has 4 recent ones. He misplaced 2 of them. Is 4 ok? Or should we add 2 that are six months old?
Oh, and do I NEED his birth certificate? and do I need Passport photos from the both of us? Just me? Or not really needed? Thanks a ton!

Sorry what are applying for?

If it is ILR then you do not require your birth cirtif just the passport for him, again 2 pics for him but you have not said what your applying for so its hard to say.

Bank statements I would call the bank and ask them to send copies it does not take that long to get them.

Good luck

It's a spousal visa.  Why do you think he needs 6 months of statements?  And why do you think he needs to send his birth certificate?  What other documents are he sending to prove his nationality? Have you read the form - this tells you what is needed in terms of photographs.

For my spousal visa I only submitted the 3 most recent statements for myself & my husband and those were scanned copies as well, not originals.

Good Luck!

Why do you think he needs 6 months of statements?  And why do you think he needs to send his birth certificate?

I think the info on the Transpondia site suggests 6 months of bank statements. I sent 6 for my fiance, but then realized from reading this that 3-4 are plenty. In fact, it may suggest birth certificate for both parties as well, but I think that is in the event the sponsor does not have a passport.

Although, the visa site should provide a list of required documents, don't they?

I think the info on the Transpondia site suggests 6 months of bank statements.

This is correct.  But Transpondia has to cater to visa-nationals also.

Three months for a fast-track country is fine.

We will be sending in his passport. So, wasn't sure if his passport pics are needed. I'm guessing no. I'll do mines if needed. I'll e sending in my passport obviosuly and my birth certificate.

This is what we have:

4 months of Bank statements(he is looking for the other 2. lol.)
6 months of payslips
His sponsor letter
His parents letter
a letter from the housing council
a budget
future budget
marriage certificate(don't have it yet but will be getting it in a few days)
His employment contract
Both of our passports
My birth certificate
Both of our CV's
Letter from his employer
a few pics of us in the past and recent wedding ones.
Hotel and flight inteneraries(sp?) lol.
I think that's about it...

Am I forgetting anything? I will be getting passport photos.

Question: His family's tenancy agreement is pretty old. Late 90's I think. But we do have a letter from the housing council. Will this be a problem?

Moonfaery, the right buzzword here is "local authority".  Sometimes people say "housing estate", and sometimes "local council".  But "local authority" is the term that leaves no doubt.  They are the ones who give out tenancy agreements.

Like Vicky says, the dwellings themselves are called "council houses" or "council flats".

It might not be though, it's not that straight forward.  It could be Housing Association, housing officer, council, landlord, and it could be the letter giving permission or the letter saying the accommodation is suitable...two different letters!

I'm sorry. I meant housing society. Her letter says that they have no objection having me stay in the house as it has 3 bedrooms large enough to accommadate me*. Something like that.
