Thanks, everybody! I called all my family the next day and celebrated again over the phone each time!
Alb and Jamie, I understand the stress. It caused all sorts of health problems for me, but I did learn something from it; turns out, I don't react to stress as well as I thought!
I tracked my package via FedEx as well, and knew the date and time it arrived at the LA Consulate. I recieved two e-mails from them the next day. The first e-mail I got told me that they recieved it and are processing the application, and to allow for 12 weeks to have it finished. I nearly died. However, half an hour later I recieved another e-mail to allow for 5 working days. So that was confusing.
The day my visa was approved, I first got a call around 9am from a woman from the consulate asking for more information. I have caller id and it showed as unknown name and unknown number; so I would keep an eye on your answering machine, if you tend to screen calls. About two hours after the first call, she called back and told me that it was issued.
I expect a similar time line for the two of you, but that's just my assumption because it's the same consulate, by post, around the same time as mine. I'll cross my fingers for you!
My husband and I will be living in SW England, in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. I haven't been anywhere north yet, where you two will be. During my visit I was only able to be in London, St. Neots (Cambridgeshire), and further east in Norwich. I was sick for the other half of my visit so I was stuck in bed!
I'm going to purchase my plane ticket for the 27th, so I'll arrive on the 28th of this month.
You guys will be fine, too! Jamie, I wouldn't let the waiting kill you; it makes a wedding rather inconvenient. =P
