1. Lufthansa took over BMI. I wonder how that will effect things?

2. Oil prices are about what they were a year ago but the airlines have not dropped their fares to what they were a year ago. It must be the airline CEO's have seen what they could make if they were on Wall Street and are jealous.

Hmm. Is BMI still going to operate as BMI or will Lufthansa take over all flights under their name?

I was just reading to not expect any drop in airfares eventhough oil prices are going down -the airlines have so much ground to make up financially and people are still buying tickets at the higher price, so they are going to keep prices high to try to cover some of their losses earlier in the year.  Figures.

In the past two weeks an airfare I was looking at dropped nearly £50.  London to Boston in January.  The fare was £320 all taxes included.  This is really good and the cheapest I have seen for awhile.

Yes, they are Anna - they are part of the Star Alliance (United, Air Canada, USAirways and more) which is where all my frequent flyer miles are, so I am hoping they still operate as BMI (not Lufthansa) so I can get more miles! :)

I just read MSNBC News-Travel that the airlines are lowering their fares to get business for the holidays.
