Wedding Rant
« on: October 13, 2008, 09:38:10 PM »
Just a little vent, if you don't mind... I haven't posted on here much in the last month or so - I'm down to less than 2 months until the wedding and I'm starting to go a little crazy I think. I didn't know it was possible to be this stressed and this excited all at the same time. I spend my days at work (because I have a job with a lot of free time on the computer) trying to occupy myself as much as I can with organizing the wedding... but then I drive myself crazy because there's only SO much I can do at certain points in time and I can't seem to get myself to think about or want to do anything else. At the same time I'm stressing about paying for the wedding, what are we doing for a honeymoon, sending my husband back to England after the wedding so I can apply for my marriage visa, and actually getting my fiance to do the few things that I need him to do before he shows up here in 5 weeks. I feel like I should constantly be slightly inebriated just to keep myself calm  [smiley=bomb.gif]. I'm usually busy enough on the nights and weekends, but these long hours at work with nothing to look at but a list of wedding stuff I need to do is hard.

That's all. Thanks for lending your ears!!

xx

Wait...you mean you're trying to do this sober? That's kind of risky, isn't it?

I'm trying to coordinate a house sale followed by a fiancee visa and a cat import. Wedding comes after that. But try this sober? Not on your life!

LOL!! Yes, unfortunately they frown on drinking in the workplace, which is where I spend most of my time. And if I didn't desperately need the paychecks for the wedding I would have vodka laced "electrolyte" water every day!  ;)

A house sale on top of everything?? You're a trooper!

I have to say that organising a wedding was the most stressful time...Me and my now husband were in floods of tears with frustration and organising people right up until the night before! NIGHTMARE.

We got married here in the UK ( Me a Brit and him USC ) and we had to organise my family, his family from the states airport pick ups and so fourth and little last minute panics...my parents are wonderful but they are a pair of paniky poos and can't organise anything amongst themseleves so they were panicking the hell out of me and making me so anxious my heart felt as tho it was going to burst out of my chest at some points!....Seriously...We nearly had a breakdown! BUT on the day..everything just seems to come together in the end..and you have to remember just to enjoy yourself  :)

UPDATE: Had a dress fitting yesterday (it is being made for me) and it is GORGEOUS!! I'm so excited!...hoping I won't be cold but not sure I want to bother with a wrap. The wedding is in December, and although this is Arizona, I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to even remotely cold weather. Great quality for a girl moving to England to have, eh?

Also, meeting with the caterer tonight. YAY!

You'll be FINE! I got married in England in December in a strapless dress-- and I wasnt even that cold... surprisingly!  Maybe it was the nerves or adrenaline or something :)

I'm getting married on Dec. 6 in Seattle, so I feel your pain.  It's SO hard to coordinate things from such a distance.  I'm excited to get married, but I'm even more excited to finally not have a wedding to plan!!
