3 month period worry

Hi there my wife who is moving to the uk already has her visa but problem is she was due to fly out on 26th

that 2 days before 3 months we had planned to do it sooner but we had a lot of unforseen delays .....she has now come down with the flu  and her doctor said she is unfit to travel

but if she travels after then she will be over 3 months and will not be able to go for ILR after 2 years

can anyone give advice ?

Someone more knowledgable can say for certain, but I'm wondering (out loud, on here) if a doctor's note would suffice in this situation to explain the delay.

Aren't spousal visas good now for 27 months? You apply for ILR roughly about a month before your 2 years expires anyway, don't you?

If the visa is valid for 27 months, and the application can be made 29 days before the eligibility date (which is two years after entry to the UK), then actually the applicant has three months plus 28 days to enter to avoid having to apply for FLR.
