Hi,
On the basis of recommendations from this board, I've been in touch with Worldwide Currencies. I'm now having some doubts.

First, the company rep I've been in touch with did not send Worldwide's details for me to send funds to them. He wrote he assumed I had them... I said no and asked him to send them.
Second, I went to their "Client log-in" page to try to find the information, but it doesn't let me log in (yes, I do have an account with them).
Third, I reported the problem and received no response.
Fourth and most concerning, after I asked the rep to send the required information for a transfer, he replied simply saying that he'll keep an eye out for the funds. Without the details, there's no way to send anything!

Frankly, I am stunned and am questioning if this is a reliable and reputable company.

Thanks,

A follow-up on this:

I gave up on Worldwide. Too many red flags were going up.

I then tried XE trade. Sent them gobs of paperwork, was promised a phone call that never came. I finally called them, was promised a follow-up email that never came. They STILL have not finalized the account, and I've given up trying. Have to admit to being a bit worried since they seem to be flakey and have my personal info now.

In the end I just did wire transfers with my banks. To my bank where I have both a dollar and sterling account, and they did an internal transfer. Another option -- my US bank was able to wire transfer my dollars in pounds. The rate wasn't quite as good, though not much worse.

All in all, in the future I'll just go with the banks. Efficient, trusted, and a known quantity (both ways).

Quick note - in light of Clairelynn's experience, MediVisas no longer recommend WorldWide Currencies.

Whoops, I just recommended xe in another thread.

I had a different experience actually - they did phone me reasonably promptly and I've done several transfers with no complaints over the last few years. I'm a bit surprised to see that they weren't so good for you. :(
