First off the food court in the new Westfield London mall is pretty darned wonderful as far as food courts go. Branded as "The Balcony" it offers everything from Dim Sum and French to Italian and Vietnamese.

There's also a truly wonderful Mexican Grill in the food court: Nineteen Ten

I've been there twice now and like the many Chipotle wannabes that have opened in London in the last 18 months it utilises the assembly-line create-your-own-burrito (as well as tacos, salads etc.) type method.

The food was uber fresh and flavourful both times I went. All the fresh ingredients zinged in my mouth as I was transported to CalMex heaven. My one complaint was that the grilled steak option was gristley in parts, although the steak they use is of a high quality. The management told me they were addressing this problem with the steak. Their barbacoa (shredded beef) on the other hand was pure manna from heaven!  :P

All you Mexican food maniacs get yourselves down to Nineteen Ten NOW! Be warned though, the crowds and the queues in the run up to Xmas might kill you.  ;)

There is also a Wahaca at the new Westfield Mall.  That is muy fabulouso!  The yummy tortilla soup, and wonderful guacamole among really stand out.

Ooh sounds delish. We should organize a field trip. :)
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Thanks for the heads up! We skipped the food court and headed straight to Wahaca as we'd always wanted to go to the one in Covent Garden.
