« on: July 12, 2004, 12:13:58 AM »
Is there an equivilant to like a Deny's or an IHOP in London at all? Cos i eat late and i know that like with the time change at least for a week my stomach will be hungry at the  wrong times. What do i do about that and is there yummy places open late at nite? Or am i just spoiled?

There are curry houses that are open until 3 & 4 am, and there are 24-hour bagel shops, but those are the only 2 examples i can think of.  Mind you, i didnt live in Central London, and was normally tucked up into my bed by 11pm, so maybe I'm not the best person to advise!  ;)

You could always cook for yourself, couldn't you?

they are few and far between i'm afraid - but it depends where you are, there might be a kebab shop or pizza place open late but no equivilant of Dennys etc. There are also breakfast places here and there which open up in the wee small hours for shift workers. There are some 24 hour supermarkets that do ready meals though.

But remember, we're dealing with the UK version of 24-hour supermarket, which means they're still only open on Sundays from 10-4.  Except some Co-Op stores - the one down the street from me is open until 6 or 8 (depending on staff allowances) on Sunday evenings.  Great for last minute milk runs for Monday morning tea & cereal!  ;)

yes true - 24 hours except at the weekend which is usually when you WANT it to be open 24 hours!

I know that the original poster was talking about London, but i just wanted to add that Scotland does not have that  law about shops closing by 4 on a Sunday.  Our 24 hour shops up here are 24-hour, EXCEPT that some (depending on location) close from 1am to 4am on a Saturday & Sunday morning, because of trouble-makers coming out of the clubs.
