Frankly I'd call somewhere else.  Like I said, the office in Nuneaton arranged my appointment right when I called them.  You shouldn't have to be making these calls back and forth, especially when you can go to anyplace that does it.

If you use NCS somewhere besides your "home" office, do they still refer your ceremony to the local or to the one you had your NCS appointment?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I believe unless you specify otherwise on the form they have you do it locally.

yes, i called the next nearest office and she said to call back on the 6th of January as they'd closed their appointment books for the year. still sounds better than the back and forth :) So I will do that.

Local.  I had my NCS appointment in Warwick, but the ceremony would be in Oxford or Abingdon.

Fiiinally got my acknowledgment letter today.  It is dated the 15th.

For others who have gone via NCS, how long after your appointment was your letter dated?  Just out of curiosity.

I had my NCS appointment on 6/1 in Richmond and I can highly recommend their service.  The OISC professional I dealt with was very thorough and she caught and helped me to correct two mistakes which could have caused processing delays without her intervention.

She posted my application Special Delivery and gave me the tracking number; I looked on the Post Office's website this morning to see that it had been received yesterday by the guaranteed 13:00 delivery.

I'll post again once I receive the Home Office letter of acknowledgement.

Also, for anyone else who has yet to apply, please note that you can request to have your citizenship ceremony held elsewhere than the borough you live in or your closest register office.  I requested mine to be held in a different (but nearby) borough because that particular borough offers Saturday ceremonies, and I wanted to be sure my husband and I could attend without work being a consideration, particularly as DH has very little control over his work schedule due to his client commitments.

I had to search around several local borough's websites before I found one that offered Saturday ceremonies, but I think the effort was worthwhile.
