My husband met and married here in the US (I am a US citizen). His temporary visa has since expired and he has returned to the UK. He currently is actively looking for a new job and with his strong portfolio has lots of options, but at the moment is unemployed, but seeking employment.

*Should I hold off on submitting my visa application till he has a job in the UK?

In addition, my company is global and I am trying to get transfered into a position at our London based office and, for back up, am currently interviewing with a few of our partner companies in the London area as well.

*Therefore, I am not employed in the UK yet either. Will this hurt my visa application?

*When in this whole process is the right time to get my biometrics done? When is the best time, before I submit the spousal visa application or after I submit the spousal visa application?

*What sort of documentation should I submit and how should I submit them to support the validity of my spousal visa application?

I am doing additional research into all of this of course, but would love some first hand knowledge to make sure I am taking the appropriate avenue to get all this completed and approved in a timely matter.
Thank you so much in advance for your assistance.

It all depends on what your finances are at this time.  Are you able to support yourself on savings if you can't find a job right away?  Can you make a budget that can prove you can support yourself without public funds?  Lots of people don't have jobs right away, it won't hurt you if you have enough funds.  But if you do get one it can only help.

The biometrics is handled after you apply.  They will prompt after you complete the application.

I currently have no savings, but can save up within the next 2-3 months as I make an annual salary of $63K USD. My husband does, however, have some savings (3,000 GBP). I also can reach out to family to loan me money for this purpose. How much do you think will suffice or at least guarantee we look good to support ourselves? Please note, we have a very close family friend who owns a good size home in central London and has offered to let us to stay there until we get on our feet and find an appropriate flat ...etc. Thus, initial money towards rent will not be needed, thankfully. It is likely I will have a job setup by March / April in the UK if things continue to look as good as they do, however, I plan to submit the visa application before hand. I think that, yes, I could setup some sort of budget to recognize we could support ourselves. Regarding documentation, any idea on what I should submit? My husband co-owns a home back in Scotland so that deed should help, my original birth certificate, paystubs .... things of that nature???

Thanks again for all the advice.

I would suggest checking out Garry's site on documentation. It's very thorough.
