The Office
« on: October 29, 2009, 04:00:51 AM »
Are there any The Office fans out there. When I lived in the UK loved watching the original Office with Ricky Gervais, but I have to say I am completely hooked on the NBC's american make one. Probably the first re-make show I am a fan of but I just love how they sort of made it into a show of its own.

My husband and I are huge fans of the American Office, we watch it every week. IMO it is better than the UK Office, and completely different, and I love the characters and situations!
While we love the Office, this season (bar the wedding episode) has been trumped in our opinions by Parks & Recreation and Community!!!

IMO, no other programme can ever top the original UK The Office. It's the best thing that's ever been on television! However, the US version is extremely funny and well done! As others have said, it's a completely different show which is where I think they went right - as opposed to all the other US copies of UK shows which have tried to mimic them. That has never worked.

(Parks and Recreation is awesome!!!)

I think I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't love Parks and Recreation.  I want to like it, and watch it every week in hope that I will, but... nothing. :-\\\\

I saw a trailer or clip of it and I wasn't impressed, but I thought I'd reserve judgment until I actually saw a whole episode.  :-\\\\

DH keeps going on about the 'after Christmas sales'.  What?!  I'm thinking Black Friday sales would be better.  Plus I'm going to be at my aunt and uncle's house and my cousin loves nothing more than shopping for electronics with other people's money.  Between him, my uncle, and my dad, I'm sure they'd have a ball speccing out my new TV and DVD system!

I don't like it either and we've tried because we like Amy Poeller.  My husband was amused because her assistant is from the same dinky town in SC that he's fom   ::)

Yeah.  I think it was in the first episode, someone was assuming where he was from and he was like, "I'm from Bennettsville, SC."  We were cracking up because no one knows that place unless you are from there. It was so random.

Yes!  He needs a lesson in holiday shopping - he'll be scraping the bottom of the barrel by December 26.
