Facebook question
« on: January 22, 2009, 01:51:19 AM »
I'm pretty new to the crazy world of FB. Another friend is even newer. Today she received a friend request from someone we both knew, who is on other people's lists we know. As far as we are aware, she's cool. But the message in the friend request was porn. Anyone know if this can happen as a result of a virus or something?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yes, it can. There have been some crazy viruses going around lately. Last year I got locked out of my own facebook and it started sending messages (posts on their pages) to all my friends about some free ringtone site. Took a couple of weeks to get it sorted and back into my own facebook!!!

Yep.  This sort of thing happens all the time.  Just delete.

I've heard of it happening with MySpace, but never with Facebook.  My friend's MySpace was attacked and it started sending out spam messages to all her friends' comments pages.  I guess it's not so surprising that it would be happening in Facebook now, just disappointing.
