Bugaboo Frog

Hi Ladies,

well I finally found a stroller that I love, it's the Dutch Bugaboo Frog, I am currently in sticker shock as we ordered it this morning and I was just wondering if anyone has it and how do they like it?

Nope I don't have it - we opted for a Moathercare one, the citilite - it was only £60 and we have ADORED it. It's really lightweight, suitable from birth, folds with one hand, and we've thought the world of it. I've never heard of Bugaboo Frog..

I just went and looked at that it is really neat but it dont look like it will be practical for the long run. Once the baby gets bigger.

We saw a woman in the street with a gorgeous red pram so I asked where it was from, it was a Bugaboo from John Lewis, not sure if it is a "frog" - I found it on the JL website anyhow and it is £500 !!!!!?!!!!!!! So we crossed that off our wish list straight away.

I think we are going to get a Cossatto Riga, that is the one I like anyhow, they are £180 from Mothercare but I have seen them online for as little as £90. We have opted to get a 2 in 1 so we don't have to buy another one when he gets bigger. Plus I really want him to be facing me when he is newborn.

That's the stroller Gwyneth has been pictured pushing little Apple in.     I only know that because I read an article in the Guardian about  companies sending strollers to celebs so that everyone would want one. 

I didn't know Gwennie had it but I did know the Beckhams and Madonna have it. It is really popular with celebrities didn't know that either until after we purchased it. It's supposed to be good upto 40lbs or 4yrs of age, so we'll see, I haven't got it yet but I'll let you all know how I like it when I do, have a friends sister who has it also and she loves it, found that out after the fact and I thought I'd found something new!

I'll say it again - I'm in LOVE with my £60 stroller from mothercare. It's suitable from infancy, and goes all the way up through toddler hood, we have no intention of ever buying a new one. It's lightweight enough to keep forever, and big enough to put a bigger lad in. Love. It. It's the Citilite, for anyone in the market.

We'd have loved a pram, but we didn't fancy buying a new stroller once Philip wanted to be sitting up. 

Britwide (and everyone) - Boots and Tesco give you loads of free stuff (though not strollers!) if you register with them that your a new mum, or a mum-to-be.

Yeah I got the Boots pack but I joined the Tesco one online and they have never sent me anything! We got a CD in the mail yesterday from Pampers, it is supposed to be what the outside world sounds like from inside the womb, haven't listened to it yet. 

Has anyone been to any of the Babies R Us stores in the UK? are they worth a visit? I have got their catalogue and some of the stuff looks beautiful but I want to see it in reality before I buy anything. Our nearest branch is miles away but I would make the trip if I thought it would be worth it.

We bought some things from Babies R Us: crib, moses basket, stroller/car seat and blankets.  Their prices can be a bit lower than Mothercare.

Oh, I forgot to add:  if you join Babies R Us' Mothers Club, you get coupons every three months or so, for money off future purchases.

We went to a Babys R Us in person, they've got one outside of Lakside Mall, and I was really disappointed. Perhaps I was ecpeting the American version? But they didn't havbe very much on offer, and what they did have, I could find for less at Mothercare. As for online - I haven't tried them. Perhaps they have better deals online than in person? As for the UK?

 I to was thoroughly dissapointed with Babies r Us in the UK, no selection at all, it's in Toys R Us and is so small, has a tiny corner of baby stuff and I've been to two of them so far so I don't think they must differ store to store. Hubby was not impressed either. I am however a big fan of Daisy and Toms if you have a local one nearby.
