Trouble connecting to UKY?
« on: February 03, 2009, 06:31:01 PM »
My connecting is really hit or miss both yesterday and today. Anyone else having that problem?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Do you get an error or does it just time out?

I just get the spinning wheel thingy forever and ever. No error or anything. I have to stop it, go to another site or link on UKY, or refresh the page. It's only happening on UKY.

I'm not having the same issues, other than having a generally crap internet connection since I moved so everything is slower.

You can try this to see where the problem lies:
How to Use Traceroute

One shortcut they don't mention in opening a command prompt is Start>Run, and enter "cmd" or "command" without the quotes. "tracert www.uk-yankee.com". Unless you're on a mac and then I think it's Terminal and "traceroute www.uk-yankee.com".

This will show all the hops across the internet and where it's getting stuck. If you don't reach theplanet.com, it's lagging elsewhere. If it does reach those, then it's on our end.
