Doggie Pubs
« on: February 20, 2009, 08:34:36 PM »
Not about moving, but about pets, so I guess this is a good place to share a website that put a HUGE smile on my face!  ;D My favourite pub is on this list and I cannot wait to take my dog for a Strongbow!

Does anyone take their dogs to pubs?  I saw an old sheep dog in a pub the last time I was visiting and it warmed my heart :)

Our local is very dog friendly but our dog is still learning his manners so he doesn't go very often.

Ed to add: ours rated THREE stars on the website.  But we knew that already!

My cocker spaniel is 10 years old and would just sit on my lap sharing my chips :)  I just think that they are allowed INSIDE any pub is so cool! I have never heard of any establishment that serves food allowing dogs inside in America (its against regulations, I am sure)

My fav pub is rated three stars too! Reason #75640 to love England.

Thanks for that website...i love the fact that you can take your dog into pubs with you...i would never even think about doing this in the US...we have eaten in a few local pubs that have allowed our pooch....one time he was off his leash and ran behind the bar...this man said' if that was my dog, i would have trained him to bring me a bag of crisps back "

I read the title of this thread wrong! I thought you were asking about dodgy pubs! I was going to tell you about a rough one 5 miles away from me... ;D

I love going into a country pub in the winter, open fireplace and having some drinks on the sofas and a doggy plodding about..makes me feel snuggly. :)

A lot of the pubs here have beer gardens, and it's not unusual to see people with dogs in the gardens. We have a friend who sometimes takes his dog to our local; the dog will sit with us at the table, and if she gets restless the owner will take her outside for a bit till she's calmed down. The pub also has two resident cats.

Pubs seem to be lenient about pets, as long as the pets don't cause a disturbance.
