British passport question
« on: March 10, 2009, 09:18:04 PM »
I have a question about filling in the British passport form if anyone has done it recently?

In section 5 it asks about the place of issue of naturalization. Is this the place where you had theceremony, or is it "the home office London" as it appears on the certificate?

Thanks much :)

I'm pretty sure I put the location of the office where I had my ceremony. Not 100% though so better wait for more replies!

hellojulie, I don't think it is clear what the Passport Office wants to be entered ..... and I don't think it matters much anyway!

That is, you need to enter the number of your Certificate of Naturalisation, and indeed supply the certificate with your passport application. Clearly the Passport Office can see you are British.

If it helps ..... at what instant in time did you become British, and where were you? It was at your Citizenship Ceremony, so totally logical to enter the name of the city/town where that ceremony took place.
