Post Study Work Visa and
« on: March 10, 2009, 04:22:32 PM »
I have a Post-Study Work visa (part of tier 1) that is good until November 2010 (and should be able to be renewed afterwards using highly skilled worker).  I have been looking for work here in the UK, but haven't had any decent leads in a while, so I am thinking about moving back to the US for the next 6 to 8 months to do a contract job that has been offered to me.

I am still interested in living and working in the UK after my position in the US ends.  My question is: do I have unlimited leave to come and go in the UK with my visa, or do I endanger my status by going back for a large period of time?  If were offered a contract next year in the UK, would I be able to move back and use my visa or would my absence from the UK change my status?  I'm tentatively planning on keeping my apartment here and coming back in the November to January timeframe.

I know the visa regulations have recently changed, so I want to make sure I know my rights before I leave the country.

Any feedback is appreciated.  Thank you!

- Caryn
