IRA

My husband and I are moving to UK, I am British and he is US citizen. How do I move my IRA, I have spoken to Banks in UK and financial advisers but no one seems to know what I should do. The funds that are in the IRA originally came from Pension Policies that I had in UK, so I can't see what the problem is. When I moved them to US the companies wrote the cheques to the bank where I was going to do IRA for the benefit of me. Can this be done in reverse?
