I'm a big Law and Order fan and I watched the first episode of the UK version, but I just couldn't get into it. I'm not sure why. I've been meaning to give it another try, but I keep forgetting about it.

Yes I have seen them all.  So far they have all been re-dos of American episodes and I have fun predicting what will happened within the first few mintues.  I've gotten them all right so far, but since I can never remember the verdict I am ok.

I think the Law part is less interesting here.  Every episode so far has had the police saying, nope you're lying got you on CCTV.  Good for real police, boring for tv.  There is just less dectective work.

It is hard to adjust to Jamie Bamber with a British accent and Martha Jones, sorry I don't know her real name, is way too earnest.

Same here.  I enjoyed the first episode well enough, but it didn't really stand out in any way.  Plus, one of the main reasons I love US Law&Order is Sam Waterston, and his British counterpart doesn't really do it for me.

Not seen any of the US ones, it's ok....the production seems very American reminding me of CSI etc so I guess in that way they've done as they did with the US ones.
The format I'm unsure about though for a 1 hour programme (well 45 mins I guess when you consider the ads) that it's 30 mins law and 30 mins order.....they just seem to find the suspect too quickly, interview one person "oh try this guy", interview them "try him"..."right you're nicked!"
But still sticking with it for now.

See that ruined it for my dh when we watched it. He knew straight away that it was just like one of the American episodes.

I am a HUGE L&O fan. I watched one and simply hated it. First of all, the whole re-doing the American series bothers me since I remember almost all of those. And second, they are just so boring and cardboard like...the police and lawyers. Where is the passion? But that is just me.

I watched it last week.  It was okay, but it's missing something, not sure what the 'something' is.

I think it is the police work aspect.  They don't need to interview witnesses or track down false leads or prove any whereabouts, they just need to go to the tape.  Snore.

They had one episode in the US, where the student kills a female teacher because the female teacher finds out a male teacher is sleeping with her, where they used CCTV.  At least the kid switched the tapes around so it provided some drama.

I watched Law & Order:UK last night and was so surprised to see (on the man who owned the sport shop) a WSU stocking cap.  The Washington State University Cougars logo.  On UK television.  ?!?!?  I didn't think anyone beyond Washington, Oregon, Idaho even knew it existed.

It is getting eerie.  How much L&O have I watched?  I was able to predict last week's episode just by the construction in the basement and this week's as soon as the fire started.

They didn't even change the name of the kid in last week's episode.  I really like the show, but maybe it is good there is no TNT here.
