Well we talked to the minister beforehand and turned it into the courthouse ourselves.  The day after the wedding, we were married on a Sunday.

Usually, the minister, or whoever, mails it off and then it gets to the courthouse and then it gets mailed to you.

You can take it yourself and pick up a copy yourself and it takes a lot less time.  If we had been married on a weekday and dropped it off that day we could have picked it up the next morning.

It might depend on your courthouse though and if your minister will let you take it yourself.  I would check with them first.  Lehigh Valley didn;t have a problem with it, if that helps, but it was two years ago.

I called and they said it was fine to bring it in! I'm sure my pastor will be fine with it. She's a good friend of mine. Thanks again!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

bookgrl - what county were you in?  we're getting our license in Montgomery County(Norristown) but getting married in Philadelphia City (Philadelphia county Duh!).  I've asked our officiant how long it takes, and hadn't even thought about being able to "hand deliver".  Waiting for his answer.

Lehigh!  But I am sure they do the same in the big cities.  No one in my courthouse batted an eye.

Meggles, I'm getting my license in Cumberland County (Carlisle), but getting married in York County. They had no problem with hand delivering it. She said that when you apply for your license you'll get a packet of information including the application for the certificate. She said they process applications the same day they receive them and mail it that day. So, your officiant is really the wild card here if you choose to have them mail it in.
