Finding and using the UKY Community Cookbook
« on: December 26, 2007, 11:15:00 AM »
Although not everyone is aware, there is a UKY Community Cookbook on the site that is available to browse as well as add your favourite recipes.

http://cookbook.uk-yankee.com/index.php

To post a new recipe, simply click on the category it falls into, and use the "suggest a new recipe" link. This opens a window where the details can be filled it.

Hit "submit link". Voila! Your recipe has been added to the cookbook.

At the moment there are 116 recipes in the cookbook in 6 categories. We have some great cooks on this site, and, especially at this time of year, it would be great to see it utilized more.

Posted something on the regular forum recently? Please take the time to move it to the cookbook as well so when someone wants to find it later, it's an easy browse!

 :)

Thanks, Courtney! I always forget it's there and have never added anything to it!  :)

I had forgotten about it as well, but I was pretty happy with a stuffed mushroom recipe I tried this week and thought it might be nice to post it. Even then, I had to really hunt to find the cookbook, so I thought I'd give people an easier way to find/use it.

Some of you have posted some mouthwatering recipes recently! Let's get them organized into the cookbook. :)

Thanks Courtney! I was one of the ones who begged Leah for this but have been just awful keeping up with it. I hope your post will be the kick in the bum I need! :)
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Hmmm ... it might have got lost in the shuffle when Leah moved UKY to a new server. I keep forgetting about the Cookbook! We should definitely try and get people to use it again because it's a great resource! I'll drop Leah a PM and see what's up, OK?

Sorry, the cookbook has been down for a while due to security issues with it. I'm working on setting up another system to copy the data to, but I couldn't say how long it will take.  :-[

Heh. I just looked up my own chicken and dumplings recipe on the internet, because I posted about it once (not here). It just blows my mind to use the bzillion dollars of 21st C technology to look up some fool thing I said five years ago.

Also, it was weird seeing pictures of my old kitchen in the States.
