American Civics Quiz
« on: March 30, 2009, 11:59:00 AM »
I'll stick this in Chit Chat for now, because I'm not sure of the best place for it.

My fellow Americans ( ;))  Take a look at this website http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/resources/quiz.aspx  You may have seen it already.  If not, it's quite an in-depth and challenging quiz on American history, politics, economics and other things we should know.  I majored in American history, and still struggled with some of the questions (mostly the economics ones  :P).  Give it a try!

I've taken this one before.  The questions got a bit tougher towards the end.  DH was looking over my shoulder for the first half, but I had to ask him to look away.  ;D

I know!  I KNEW that post existed, and it still took me 3 tries with the search function to find it.  In the meantime, I got a lot of ads about Honda Civics.  >:(

29/33.

Some questions seem to be much harder than others!

25/33

Thanks for that, I learned something today :)
We are a nation that has a government -- not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the earth. Our government has no power except that granted to it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.
Ronald Reagan

31/33 (and I am kicking myself over the profit question--I just wasn't reading closely enough!)

I am kicking myself over the profit question--I just wasn't reading closely enough!

I missed 5, 13, 15, and 22, so definitely a couple of very silly mistakes on my part!   :-[

And I have to confess that I only got 8 and 11 plus one of the economics questions by an educated guess after eliminating the known wrong answers.

P.S. Not that I'm complaining because it was an easy question for me, but what does #17 really have to do with American Civics?
