OF COURSE!!! ughhh (Date on Biometrics)
« on: April 11, 2009, 12:38:33 AM »
So I'm looking over my docs and I notice that the Biometrics collection tech that helped me on FRIDAY April 3, 2009 wrote down on the stamp that she collected my bios APRIL 2ND!?!?!?!?!

WTMF of course something else has to go wrong. She collected them on the 3rd! I'm certain of this. Is it going to be in the computer as the 3rd or are they going to go off what the tech wrote on the stamp? Can I go into the center tomorrow and show them that she wrote this wrong and have them correct it? I can still reprint the bio appointment confirmation without a stamp.

Just what I needed right?!

I can't see how this can make much difference

I'm not 100% sure, I don't have the knowledge or the experience of many people on here, but I *think* it might be okay; as long as everything else is legit with the paperwork, they'll prolly go off what's on the computer and chalk it up to human error. It's not a big enough mistake with the date--I'd be concerned if it was a completely different month, or if the day was well off, but it's only one day. So, I think they'll consider it human error on the part of the technician, since the really important stuff (the biometrics) are still valid, even if the date is off by one day.

I may be off, and someone will come by and correct me, but we'll pretend until otherwise, I think you have enough stress as it is :) *hugs*

Edit: didn't see tannersarms post, my bad  :-[

Okies I emailed my Courier who has a former ECO in office to see if he can ask that person. Thanks Peeps.

No worries, I think you'll be okay with that. It's a mistake I make a lot, and I'm sure the ECOs sometimes do as well, and they've prolly seen it before--biometrics are sent directly to the consulate so they'll have some record of when they received them, and they'll realize it's just a mistake (if they notice at all).

Why do you think it matters?

Because your application has to be submitted within the two weeks and I'm cutting it close as it is.

You should be okay, like I said the biometrics are sent electronically to the consulate the same day (unless the system blows up, of course), so they will have been sent on the 3rd irregardless of what was stamped/signed on your paperwork. They'll likely go by what's in their computer :)

Just put a note on the appointment saying you actually attended. I don't *think* people's applications get sent back just because they've past the 14 day mark, as there's some leaway (think your application arrives on day 14, but the consulater don't open it for a week). As you're using a courier your application will be inputted the day it arrives at the consulate, so no big deal.

Besides, you'll be pleased you didn't actually submit them on the 2nd........

No worries :) I think in part it's nerves and jitters that come with being part of the visa process. Our futures are decided somewhat by these visas, and I know I'm one of those self-defeatist types that will look for any small thing that will mess up my visa, doubly so when it comes time to actually turn it in. I don't think either of us can imagine being without our fiances, and our minds get all preoccupied with making sure every little thing is by the book :(

And tannersarms has a good point--at least it was the 3rd and not the 2nd  :-\\\\

Yep you hit the nail on the head.

What happened with the 2nd? Is that the day they lost all the bios for?

Yeah, I think that's when they went wonky :( But I'm sure they'll get it sorted after the holidays, if anything they'll need to redo the bios and send them back down more likely than not--and they may very well be able to sort it out still.

I seem to think about my visa all the time even though I don't have it all together yet, and stuff. I'm looking for the one tiny rule I overlooked, or the one mistake I always make; I'm having my fiance look things over when he comes over to get married, but he's mainly going off of what I tell him.

My fiance says if I worry one more time about my visa (i.e. get in tears over it) he'll scream :P Everything we have is pretty straightforward, and we got the money together, now it's just a waiting game, but I won't feel like I can really relax until I have my passport back :(
