FLR - waiting time still 14 weeks?
« on: April 23, 2009, 09:59:22 AM »
Hello!

Just wondering if anyone has received FLR by post recently?  If so what was your timeline?  I will be approaching the 14 week mark shortly, however I've noticed that the UKBA website now says waiting time could be 6 months!  Eek!  I'm supposed to travel to the US to visit my parents the first week of July but now I'm worried that I won't have my passport back by then...  When I sent my application off at the end of January I was pretty confident I would get it back before July - I guess that was presumptuous of me!  ::)  My application is very straightforward - no convictions, overstays, etc... They haven't contacted me to provide any additional info.

Is the average waiting time still hovering around 14 weeks, or is it now 6 months?  :o

Thanks for any advice/information!

-Stacey

The longest I have heard of anyone waiting was 20 weeks, so I would expect you to make your trip.

Thanks for that Vicky!  Even if I had to wait 20 weeks I'd still be OK, thank goodness.  I normally wouldn't worry, but I just happened to check the UKBA website today out of curiosity and was a little taken aback at the 6 month thing... When I applied in January I swear it didn't say that - maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, or I'm going crazy!

Thanks again!

You're not going crazy. It didn't say that. But UKBA won't admit it. :)
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I'm at 15+ weeks.  They did ask for additional info from me. They received my app on Jan 7 and it took five weeks before they could schedule my biometrics.  When you call them now, they say that their target date is 14 weeks AFTER biometrics.  If that is true, then that would put me at 19 weeks.

Staceyann, how long did it take for you to be able to do your biometrics?

Hi Lisa -  Like you I had my biometrics about five weeks after they received my application on Jan. 28th - I gave my biometrics the first week of March.  Hmmm... interesting that they told you the target is 14 weeks after they receive your biometrics.

They told me in Croydon after the biometrics and I specifically asked them was that 14 weeks from that time or from the time they received the app.  He said from the time they received the app.  However, if you call on the phone, the recorded announcement says 14 weeks AFTER collecting biometrics.  5 weeks is a big additional wait if that is the case.

So you submitted your app three weeks after mine.  I'll be watching to see when yours comes in.  Good luck!

They seem to have changed their policy.
